Description:
* WHAT...Southwest winds 45 to 60 mph, with gusts up to 80 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Atka and Adak.
* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 4 PM AKDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and
cause power outages. Travel will be difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There will be two rounds of strong winds,
with the worst conditions expected Sunday morning. For today,
easterly winds gust up to 60-70 mph in the morning, then winds
change direction and drop as low as 35-45 mph as the storm center
moves through. Westerly winds gust up to 70-80 mph Sunday morning,
then slowly decrease through Sunday evening.
Instruction:
People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around
or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of power outages.
