Description:
An unseasonably strong storm system for this time of year will
bring strong winds and gusts to Nikolski, Unalaska, and Akutan
beginning early Sunday evening. Expect winds to quickly increase
Sunday afternoon with sustained southeasterly winds of 20 to 35
mph with gusts of 45 to 60 mph, becoming more southerly by Monday
morning. Winds will likely peak overnight Sunday into Monday
morning before slowly diminishing through late Monday afternoon.
As the storm moves east of the area Monday evening, winds will
shift, becoming southwesterly with gusts of 35 to 45 mph likely
through Wednesday before finally winding down.
