Description:
An unseasonably strong storm system for this time of year will
bring strong winds and gusts to Adak and Atka beginning early
this morning. Expect winds to quickly increase after sunrise
this with sustained easterly winds of 30 to 45 mph with gusts of
50 to 65 mph. Winds will likely peak around mid afternoon before
slowly diminishing through late tonight. There will be lull in
the strong winds overnight tonight into Monday morning before
winds shift to the northwest and increase in intensity. Expect
northwest winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph late Monday
morning through Monday evening. This second round of gusty winds
will slowly diminish overnight Monday into Tuesday before finally
winding down by Tuesday night.
