Description:
* WHAT...Occasional blizzard conditions. Additional snow
accumulations between 3 and 5 inches, highest near and west of the
I-39 corridor. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Boone, De Kalb, Lee, Ogle, Winnebago, and McHenry Counties.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected at times and will make
travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Widespread
blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Monday morning commute. Strong winds
could bring down tree branches and cause power outages.
Instruction:
Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with
