* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Elevated long-period north to northeast swell,
produced by a distant mid-latitude system well east of Japan and a
prior strong Kona Low north of Hawai'i, will continue to produce
hazardous surf along north facing reefs, and a high risk of rip
currents along north and east facing reefs through the latter half
of the week. Coastal inundation along northern shorelines of 1 to
2 feet is possible through this afternoon during times of high
tide.
Instruction:
Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers
should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against
the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
