Description:
* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 60 below.
* WHERE...Southern Seward Peninsula Coast.
* WHEN...Until 4 PM AKDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 60 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Coldest wind chills will be in the
north-south oriented drainage areas areas such as Johnson's Camp.
Coldest wind chills in Nome, White Mountain and Golovin will be
around 40 to 50 below zero tonight into Friday morning.
Improvement will come Friday afternoon and persist through the
weekend.
Instruction:
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
