The island of Maui in Maui County * Until 500 PM HST. * At 120 PM HST, radar indicated moderate to heavy rain continuing over the island of Maui. Rain was falling at a rate of half an inch to 1 inch per hour. The heaviest rain was falling over the south-facing slopes of Mount Haleakala between Makena and Hamoa with additional rain expected to move in from the southwest. Emergency Management continues to report multiple roads closed due to flooding. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas.
