Description: 
At 417 PM HST, radar indicated heavy showers have diminished slightly, with rain falling at rates of up to 1 inch per hour. Flooding remains ongoing. Stream levels remain high across West Maui, especially in Ukumehame Gulch and the Waihee River, and emergency management reported road closures in Lahaina, Kahului, and Wailuku areas. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible in steep terrain. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Kihei, Waikapu, Maalaea, Wailuku, Waiehu, Waihee, Paia, Olowalu, Makawao, Kahakuloa, Kula, Keokea, Pauwela and Haiku.

Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even if they are currently dry.
