Description:
At 843 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain from thunderstorms
earlier in the evening. Between 1 to 1.75 inches of rain has fallen
across the warned area.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Parkersburg, Elizabeth, Coolville, Forked Run State Park,
Ravenswood, Mineralwells, Lubeck, Tuppers Plains, Rockport,
Morristown, Davisville, Palestine, Greencastle, Walker,
Belleville, Reedsville, Freeport, Portland, Petroleum and Nutter
Farm.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
