* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1017 PM AKDT, the breakup front was located approximately
12 miles downriver of Mountain Village as of 7 PM Saturday.
It is moving slowly into the remaining in-place ice. Plenty
of high water is still pushing down the river from the jam
near Holy Cross a few days ago. As the surge of high water
moves downstream, it is causing flooding in several
communities along the Yukon.
- Water is continuing to slowly rise in St. Mary's. As of
Saturday evening, DOT reports ice from the Yukon was filling
the Andreafsky River and it was rising several feet. Until
the breakup front moves farther downstream Sunday, expect
continued slow rises and potential flooding of low-lying
areas.
- For Yukon River at Pilot Station:
At 9:45pm the stage was 32.6 feet.
