* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 908 PM AKDT, the ice jam 10 miles downriver from Russian
Mission is still in place as of 4PM Wednesday. The ice jam is
about 60 miles long. When the Russian Mission ice jam
releases, water levels could rapidly rise again at Russian
Mission as all the backwater in Holy Cross drains.
- Little change in the Russian Mission ice jam was observed by
the River Watch team. Thursday will be day 4 for this ice jam
and while most jams do fail in a few days, this one may last
longer. Downriver from Russian Mission, the River Watch team
overflew Marshall and Pilot Station. This ice is very rotten
and shifted in the Marshall area but some stronger in place
ice was visible near Pilot Station.
