* WHEN...Through late Monday night.
* IMPACTS...High water may result in flooding of rivers, creeks,
streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- As of Saturday evening, the River Watch Team reports the
breakup front is approximately 12 miles downstream of
Mountain Village. They observed local breakup at Emmonak and
Alakanuk with ice moving steadily through those communities.
As the breakup front works its way downstream Sunday into
Monday, residents in Nunam Iqua, Alakanuk, and Emmonak should
follow its progress closely. There is a long stretch of very
high water with abundant chunk ice behind the front that
should arrive in the next 2-3 days. Based on water levels
seen at the gauge at Pilot Station, these communities could
see the highest water levels since 1989.
