Description: 
At 926 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain with rates in exceed of 1 inch per 30 minutes. Multiple reports of roadway flooding have been received from areas near Harvard. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Waukegan, Buffalo Grove, Crystal Lake, North Chicago, Gurnee, Mundelein, Algonquin, Highland Park, Lake in the Hills, Round Lake Beach, McHenry, Belvidere, Vernon Hills, Woodstock, Zion, Huntley, Loves Park, Grayslake, Libertyville and Lake Zurich.

A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
