Description:
At 157 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Edmore, or near
Dubuque, moving northeast at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Dubuque, Galena, Asbury, East Dubuque, Peosta, Menominee,
Rickardsville, Sherrill, Council Hill, St. Donatus, Centralia,
Sageville, Bernard, Balltown, Durango, Guilford, Graf, Dubuque
Regional Airport, Garry Owen, and Cottage Hill.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for northwestern
Illinois...and northeastern and east central Iowa.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.
