Description: 
At 553 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Yates City, or 13 miles north of Canton, moving north at 50 mph. HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of northern Fulton, southern Knox and west central Peoria Counties, including the following locations... Norris, Gilson, Middle Grove, Ellisville, Delong, and Fiatt. This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 64 and 75.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for central and west central Illinois. A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small interior room. This storm is producing destructive winds and large damaging hail. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
