Driftwood River near Edinburgh.
East Fork White River at Seymour, and near Rivervale.

in Indiana...
East Fork White River at Columbus.
.Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall over the last couple of days
combined with light to moderate rainfall today is bringing
widespread minor lowland river flooding to central and southern
Indiana. Isolated moderate flooding, particularly at Seymour on the
East Fork White, is expected as well. More rounds of rainfall going
into and through the holiday weekend could make the flooding last
longer and bring higher crests.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...East Fork White River at Seymour.
* WHEN...Until late Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive flooding is in progress. More
than 50 percent of the flood plain in Jackson County is
underwater. Flood waters near the east edge of Medora. High water
isolates wastewater treatment plant at Seymour. Many county roads
that do not cross the river begin to flood. Many state and county
roads are impassable by water. High water affects many rural
residents, but only a few evacuations are necessary. Flood waters
surround most river cabins.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 16.9 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 6:45 PM EDT Wednesday was 16.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.0
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage late Sunday evening.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

dangers of flooding.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges,
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream,
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route
over higher ground.
