At 635 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding across the warned area. Multiple roads are closed in Parkville and Riverside. Several water rescues are ongoing in Kansas City. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee's Summit, Shawnee, Blue Springs, Lenexa, Leavenworth, Leawood, Raytown, Liberty, Gladstone, Prairie Village, Lansing, Excelsior Springs, Merriam, Mission, Smithville and Kearney.
