Description:
An area of slow moving thunderstorms is expected to develop this
afternoon generally north of Interstate 70 in northwest Kansas and
southwest Nebraska. These storms will be capable of producing
rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches as they move east and southeast
through this evening.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of northwest Kansas, including the following
counties, Decatur, Graham, Norton, Rawlins, Sheridan and Thomas
and southwest Nebraska, including the following counties,
Hitchcock and Red Willow.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Instruction:
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
