At 1053 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles west of Columbus to near Edna to near Wann, moving southeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 to 75 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. The storm has a history of producing winds in excess of 60 to 70 mph. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Coffeyville, Independence, Cherryvale, Caney, Oswego, Chetopa, Altamont, Edna, Dearing, Mound Valley, Tyro, Liberty, Havana, Bolton, Bartlett, Labette, Angola, Big Hill Lake, Elk City State Park, and Independence Airport.
