Description: 
At 1147 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing funnel clouds and waterspouts near Mathews, or 13 miles northwest of Larose, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Waterspouts near marine areas, funnel clouds and winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waters. If a funnel cloud briefly touches down, minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Mathews, Des Allemands, Bayou Gauche, and Raceland.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
