Description:
At 1114 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Pine Island to near Hayes. Movement was east at
30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Lake Charles, Jennings, Cameron, Welsh, Iowa, Lake Arthur, Iota,
Mermentau, Fenton, Hayes, Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge, Lake
Charles Regional Airport, Klondike, Grand Lake, Evangeline, Mowata,
Hacketts Corner, Maxie, Lebleu Settlement, and Egan.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 36 and 76.
Interstate 210 near mile marker 9.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
