Description:
At 658 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms extending from 9 miles north of Harleton to 6 miles
west of Blanchard, or extending from 21 miles northwest of Marshall
to 13 miles northwest of Shreveport, moving north at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Vivian, Jefferson, Linden, Oil City, Mooringsport, Woodlawn,
Smithland, Lodi, Karnack, Berea, Kildare, Harleton, Gray, Fairview,
Avinger, Uncertain, Pruett, Leigh and Lassater.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
If on or near Caddo Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
