* WHAT...Breaking waves of 5 to 7 ft will result in rough surf
conditions and a high risk of rip currents.
* WHERE...In Maryland, the Maryland Beaches. In Virginia, Accomack
and Northampton Counties.
* WHEN...From Friday morning through Friday evening.
* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Breaking waves may cause injury and
exhaustion.
Instruction:
Beach Hazards Statement is issued when threats such as rip
currents...longshore currents...sneaker waves and other hazards
create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Caution
should be used when in or near the water
Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
