Description:
At 331 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking multiple areas of
thunderstorm across southwest Montana, moving northeast at 45 mph.
Many of these storms are producing wind gusts in excess of 55 mph
with locally higher gusts. This is in addition to overall very windy
conditions and a high wind warning continues through 9 PM this
evening.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph with localized gusts in excess
of 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Dillon, Sheridan, Virginia City, Ennis, Twin Bridges, Lima, Monida,
Alder, Silver Star, Dell, Big Sky, Bannack Pass, Melrose, Wise River,
Dewey, Targhee Pass, Cameron, Waterloo, Snowline, and Glen.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for
south central and southwestern Montana.
