Description:
At 504 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 10 miles south of Tryon to 6 miles south of
Sutherland Reservoir State Recreation Area. Movement was east at 20
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
North Platte, Hershey, North Platte Airport, Lake Maloney State
Recreation Area, and Birdwood.
This includes the following highways...
Highway 97 between mile markers 1 and 16.
Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 161 and 184.
Highway 83 between mile markers 72 and 104.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
