At 431 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 3 miles southwest of Peru, or 4 miles northeast of Auburn, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. In addition to the potential tornado, trained spotters have also reported 60 to 90 mph winds in this dangerous storm. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near... Peru around 435 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Brownville State Recreation Area and Duck Creek Recreation Area.
