DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE WEST CENTRAL
MOUNTAINS, THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU, WEST CENTRAL BASIN, AND RANGE...
.Strong south-southwest winds combined with low humidity and dry
fuels will create a greater risk for rapid fire spread from any new
sparks over much of western New Mexico Friday afternoon.
* AFFECTED AREA...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101) and West Central
Basin and Range (Zone 109).
* TIMING...From noon to 8 PM MDT Friday.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...South to southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts
up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative humidity between 9 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.
