...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM MDT TUESDAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU AND WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE NORTHEAST PLAINS AND NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS... .Strong southwest winds with low humidity, hot temperatures, and deep mixing on Tuesday will increase the risk for rapid fire spread over far west central and northwest New Mexico, including Gallup and Farmington. The dry and windy conditions will spread to parts of northeast NM by Wednesday. Any dry lightning strikes that occur over NM Tuesday, in addition to ones that occurred Monday, may result in new starts with rapid fire spread possible. * AFFECTED AREA...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101) and West Central Mountains (Zone 105). * TIMING...From noon to 9 PM MDT Tuesday. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 5 to 12 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
