Description: 
At 413 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Santa Rosa Lake State Park, or 8 miles north of Santa Rosa, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Hail may accumulate on roadways causing hazardous travel. Locations impacted include... Santa Rosa, Santa Rosa Lake State Park, Puerto De Luna and Cuervo. This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 266 and 292.
Instruction: 
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. If on or near Santa Rosa Lake and Blue Hole, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
