Description:
At 419 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Stalker, or 16 miles west of Liberty, moving east
at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Rockland, Fallsburg, Liberty, Neversink, South Fallsburg, Fremont,
Woodridge, Jeffersonville, Parksville, and Swan Lake.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
central New York...and northeastern Pennsylvania.
