At 425 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Mt Pleasant, or 7 miles east of Downtown Concord, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Albemarle, Troy, Badin Lake, Biscoe, Plyler, Midland, Locust, Norwood, Badin, and Oakboro. This includes Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 37 and 71.
