At 627 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Claussen, or near Florence, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Florence, Marion, Mullins, Quinby, Sellers, Fork, Zion, Blue Brick, Effingham, Mars Bluff, Gapway, Francis Marion University, Rains, Floydale, Smithboro, Claussen, New Hope, Evergreen, Carolinas Hospital System, and Mcleod Regional Medical Center. This includes the following highways... Interstate 20 between mile markers 140 and 141. Interstate 95 in South Carolina between mile markers 154 and 162.
