Description:
At 637 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Myakka City to 8 miles east of Arcadia to
7 miles west of Venus. Movement was south at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Southeast Arcadia, Lake Manatee State Park, Nocatee, Myakka Head,
Limestone, Brownville, Babcock Ranch, Myakka City, Placid Lakes,
Archbold, Arcadia, Lake Suzy, Hidden River, Venus, Gardner, Fort
Ogden, and North Port.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
