Description: 
At 940 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Niantic, or 13 miles west of Decatur, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Decatur, Forsyth, Harristown, Warrensburg, Illiopolis, Niantic, and Elwin. This includes Interstate 72 between mile markers 124 and 140.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
