Description:
At 316 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Mcandrews, or 8 miles south of Williamson, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Forest Hills, Huddy, Mcandrews, Turkey Creek, Jamboree, Belfry,
Hardy, Sidney, Phelps, Canada, Majestic, Kimper, Board Tree, Woodman,
and Edgarton.
THIS INCLUDES U.S. Highway 119 in Pike County between mile markers 8
and 24.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
southeastern Kentucky.
