Description:
At 607 AM EDT...An area of heavy snow showers was along a line
extending from 15 miles north of Madawaska to 9 miles northwest of
Dickey, moving into Maine from New Brunswick...moving east AT 35 MPH.
Locations impacted include...
Fort Kent, Madawaska, Van Buren, Eagle Lake, Allagash, Frenchville,
New Canada, Allagash Township, Lille, Cross Lake, Dickey, Madawaska
Lake, Wallagrass, Grand Isle, Stockholm, Winterville, Saint Francis,
Sinclair, Daigle, and Guerette.
This includes the following highways...
US Highway 1 between Van Buren and Fort Kent.
State Highway 11 between Eagle Lake and Fort Kent.
* Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half mile in this
area of heavy snow showers.
Travel may be difficult during these heavy snow showers. Rapid
visibility reduction and potentially icy roads may lead to
accidents. Icy roads are possible as the snow melts on the roads
then quickly refreezes.
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
