Description:
At 125 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Warrenton to near Louisburg to near Zebulon.
Movement was northeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Rocky Mount, Roanoke Rapids, Nashville, Louisburg, Warrenton,
Halifax, Zebulon, Scotland Neck, Norlina, and Dortches.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 173 and 127.
NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 20 and 32.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Doppler radar has indicated weak areas of rotation with this line of
storms. If the storm intensifies and rotation strengthens, a warning
may need to be issued.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for central North
Carolina.
