Description: 
At 235 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Roanoke Rapids to 6 miles north of Dortches to near Bailey. Movement was northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Rocky Mount, Roanoke Rapids, Tarboro, Nashville, Halifax, Wilson, Scotland Neck, Elm City, Dortches, and Bailey. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 173 and 116. NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 31 and 43, near Mile Marker 46, and between Mile Markers 49 and 50.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Doppler radar has indicated weak areas of rotation with this line of storms. If the storm intensifies and rotation strengthens, a warning may need to be issued. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for central North Carolina.
