Description:
At 417 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles south of Burnwell to 9 miles northeast
of Oceana. Movement was east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Beckley, Mount Hope, Mabscott, Sophia, Crab Orchard, Dry Creek,
Macarthur, Bradley, Prosperity, Piney View, Stanaford, Coal City,
Lester, Rhodell, Pax, Bolt, Arnett, Glen Daniel, and Artie.
This includes the following highways...
West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 40 and 57.
Route 19 between mile markers 1 and 9.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
central, southern and southeastern West Virginia.
