Description: 
At 1141 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Portions of northwest Grayson County have observed 3 to 4 inches of rain so far this morning, and light rain will continue for the next hour or two. Currently, the heaviest rainfall is moving into central portions of the county with hourly rain rates of 2 to 3 inches. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Sherman, Whitesboro, Denison, Van Alstyne, Howe, Pottsboro, Collinsville, Gunter, Callisburg, Knollwood, Dorchester, Lake Texoma, Eisenhower State Park, Randell Lake, Preston, Southmayd, Tioga, Sadler, Walnut Bend and Locust.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
