* WHERE...Coryell County in central Texas...
Lampasas County in central Texas...
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Dangerous flows over low-water crossings.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 807 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Copperas Cove, Gatesville, Lampasas, McGregor, Fort Hood,
Kempner, Fort Gates, Mother Neff State Park, Colorado Bend State
Park, Lometa, Oglesby, South Mountain, Whitson, Osage, Arnett,
Topsey, Pidcoke, Izoro and Rumley.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
