Description:
At 607 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong outflow boundary
extending from 5 miles east of Hereford to 6 miles southeast of
Canyon to 6 miles southwest of Claude. Movement was northeast at 30
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Amarillo, Hereford, Canyon, Claude, Lake Tanglewood, Groom, Bushland,
Buffalo Lake, Wayside, Washburn, Umbarger, Palo Duro Canyon,
Goodnight, Mescalero Park, Dawn, Timbercreek Canyon, and Pantex.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 27 between mile markers 91 and 123.
Interstate 40 between mile markers 52 and 115.
Instruction:
Please note this is for an outflow boundary no precipitation is
expected within this statement. However, this outflow can see winds
shift southerly and create dangerous fire conditions.
