Description:
At 654 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles southeast of Cedar Creek State Park, or 9 miles southeast of
Glenville, moving northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Burnsville, Sand Fork, Stouts Mills, Sand Run, and Cedarville.
This includes Interstate 79 between mile markers 74 and 92.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
northern and north central West Virginia.
