Description: 
At 314 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles northeast of Julian, or 10 miles northeast of Madison, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Charleston, Chesapeake, Marmet, Belle, Cedar Grove, East Bank, Coal Fork, Seth, Dawes, Ashford, Sharon, Eskdale, and Racine. This includes the following highways... Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 96 and 97. West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 77 and 95. Route 119 between mile markers 55 and 56, near mile marker 62, and between mile markers 68 and 70.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central West Virginia.
