...A WINTER STORM WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM HST THIS EVENING TO 6 PM HST SUNDAY FOR THE BIG ISLAND SUMMIMTS ABOVE 12000 FEET... .A kona storm is likely to bring heavy snow and strong winds to the summits beginning this evening and lasting through Sunday afternoon. * WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations up to 10 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 70 mph. Light snow may linger Sunday night into Monday. * WHERE...Big Island Summits. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM HST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility at times, with periods of zero visibility.
