Description:
* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy mixed precipitation.
Additional ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch. For the
Ice Storm Warning, significant icing expected. Total snow and
sleet accumulations up to one half inch and ice accumulations
between one tenth and four tenths of an inch. Winds gusting as
high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Baraga and Marquette Counties.
* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 8 AM EDT this morning.
For the Ice Storm Warning, from 11 PM this evening to 2 PM EDT
Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice.
Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the
Friday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect less ice accumulation, around one
tenth of an inch, in the lower elevations of Marquette County near
Lake Superior, including the city of Marquette.
Instruction:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power
outages.
