Description: 
At 150 AM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles north of Bethune, or 11 miles northwest of Burlington, moving east at 45 mph. A wind gust of 79 mph was observed 4 miles east of Kirk. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR NORTHERN KIT CARSON AND SOUTHERN YUMA COUNTY. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely. Locations impacted include... Burlington, Stratton, Bonny Reservoir, Bethune, Vona, Joes, and Hale. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 409 and 450. Highway 385 between mile markers 179 and 216.
