The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Medina County in south central Texas...
* Until 800 AM CDT Wednesday.
* At 1134 PM CDT, Doppler radar, emergency management, and rainfall
gauges reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain with ongoing
flooding across the warned area. Between 4 and 13 inches of rain
had fallen over the past 24 hours with up to 2 inches in portions
of the warned area within the past 3 hours. Rain rates overnight
could exceed 2 to 4 inches per hour at times. Significant Flash
flooding soon could develop with numerous roads underwater and
multiple water rescues occurring earlier today. Additionally,
local creeks and river stems could quickly become even more
swollen across the warned area, campers please be aware overnight.
Travel is discouraged within the warned area.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
