Southwestern Piute County in central Utah...
* Until 1015 PM MDT.
* At 716 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Cottonwood burn scar in Piute County. Between
0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall
amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through City Creek, Ten Mile Creek, and may develop in
Cottonwood Creek if the storm moves into that drainage. The debris
flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding in and around the Cottonwood
burn scar in Piute County and points downstream to HW
89 between milepost 166-177.

This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams in the
Cottonwood burn scar in Piute County downstream to HW 89. Severe
debris flows can also be anticipated across roads.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
