Description:
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
county, Jefferson.
* WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 652 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Mountain Brook,
Irondale, Tarrant, Five Points South, Samford University,
Cahaba Heights, U.A.B. Campus, Kingston, The Summit, Regions
Field, B.j.c.c., Birmingham Airport, Brook Highland, Lake
Purdy, Birmingham Zoo and Highland Park Golf Course.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
